Colorful small and large plastic bricks, known as Lego, are one of the most popular intellectual and creative games for children and even adults. Have you ever played with Lego?!
Due to the pure and interesting design of the legos, they provided the ability for everyone to use the legos to create anything that can be imagined and turned into reality.
So for such a versatile toy that is suitable and attractive for everyone at any age, it is not surprising that a day is set for its importance. Today we are going to talk about Lego National Day, which is celebrated on January 28 every year. Let’s go:
History of Lego National Day
On January 28, 1958, a Danish carpenter named Godtfred Kirk Christiansen first patented his original Lego brick. Lego National Day is celebrated on the same day.
In fact, Godtfred founded a company in 1932 that made wooden toys. One of these toys was toy bricks, which were inspired by building bricks and their arrangement in the building system.
Finally, Godtfred named these toy bricks Lego. Lego is derived from the Danish word “LEg GOdt” which means to play well. Later, in 1949, the first plastic logos were made.
The first Legoland was also established in 1967 and opened to the public the following year. And since then, the number of Legolands has increased to nine.
The importance of Lego National Day
This day is very important for several reasons. The first reason could be Lego’s story. As I said before, Lego has come a long way in being able to register as a strong brand. Lego companies are also among the most valuable toy companies.
In addition, Lego is an affordable game. By taking a set of Lego, you will have hundreds of small legos with which you can create or separate different shapes and start making another shape again.
Above all, playing with Lego is a great help for your mind. Research has shown that playing with Lego can improve mental abilities, spatial intelligence and eye-hand coordination in young children.

The first and easiest thing you can do on this day is to play with legos that you have put in the warehouse for a long time, unusable. If you do not have one, get a new Lego set and spend some relaxing and happy moments with your friends or child.
Take a day trip to Legoland:
If you like adventure like me, pack your bags and go on a day trip to one of the many Legolands out there. I bet you will never forget the big lego structures!
Watch one of the Lego movies:
Lego popularity has also entered the cinema. There are currently two Lego movies. “The Lego Movie” (2014) and “The Lego Movie 2” (2019). You can prepare your popcorn dishes and see the moving legos.
